The Kat Von D Poetica eyeshadow palette: Today I will be reviewing the Kat Von D poetica palette that I manage to get my hands on in my local tj maxx for $9.99! I was there a few days ago and mine still have some in stock.

Like I stated earlier I found mine for only $9.99 at tj maxx.

The packaging: Overall I think the packaging is beautiful. Its a hard case metal type palette and also has a strong feeling spring closure. The design on the front is very pretty and I love that the names of the colors in this palette are all listed on the back of the case, as shown in the picture below.

The names are clearly visible and very convenient, I always hate it when a palette doesnt list the names, or if they do its often on a removable slip.

The shades from left to right: Forgiveness, Sand Timer, Chandler, Tijuana, Wonderland, Shiba, Babe, and You Alone. This palette also comes with a travel size autograph pencil in the shade Puro Amor.

A size comparison of the autograph pencil in Puro Amor.

Swatches: From left to right we have the autograph pencil in the shade puro amor, next is the eyeshadows in the shades Forgiveness (a beautiful sparkly creme white shade with gold shimmer), Sand Timer (a great everyday light taupe color with slight shimmer), Chandler (a vibrant orange spice), Tijuana (an awesome black with tons of purple shimmer although not a chunky shimmer), Wonderland (a very dark plum shade), Shiba (a slightly lighter plum shade with silver glitter), Babe (a bright purple with silver glitter) and You Alone (another white creme shade with a very fine sheen to it, this has become my everyday highlighting color).

My Final Thoughts: Overall I think that if you can get your hands on one of these for such a low price that it is more than worth your money. Of course if youre not huge fan of vibrant bright colors you might not get a ton out of it. The highlighting shades are absolutely amazing and the eyeliner is great as well, long staying power and very black. The shadows overall can tend to be a bit chalky but its very manageable. I also love to use the light taupe shade in Sand Timer all over the lid with one of the highlighting shades for an everyday simple eye look. I would definitely say, go for it!

Tarte kiss and belle lipsurgence holiday set review and swatches:

Names of each shade from left to right: Eternal (matte) , Dreamy, Kiss (lip gloss), Fancy (matte), Alluring, Belle (lip gloss) , Dainty, and Innocent.

I bought this lipsurgence set back a few months ago for $34 at sephora. This set includes 4 deluxe lipsurgence lip tints, 2 lipsurgence matte tints, and 2 lipsurgence lip glosses. Since then I have had ample time to try out these products to come on here and tell you guys exactly what I think about the products themselves.

This is a size comparison of the products and also an up close view so you can better see the packaging.

Swatches from left to right: Eternal, Dreamy, Kiss, Fancy, Alluring, Belle, Dainty, and Innocent.

As you can see they are highly pigmented with only 2-3 swipes of each to get excellent color pigmentation. I will also be showing you pictures of what all these shades look like swatched on my lips. :)

This is the first shade in Eternal. It is a matte peachy nude shade.

This is the second shade in Dreamy. This is one of their creme lipsurgence shades. This shade comes off as a very pretty berry color.

This is the first lip gloss of the bunch, Kiss. This is a very nice light pink with golden shimmer. There is a lot of shimmer in this one but I like that you cannot feel it on.

This next shade is called fancy, this is the second matte in the group. This color is a very beautiful berry matte shade.

This next one is named alluring, and very accurately put if I might add. I love this color, it is a beautiful mauve shade on the lips.

Pictured is the second lip gloss in the bunch, Belle. This is a great creme raspberry shade, very surprisingly pigmented for a lip gloss.

The next one up is called Dainty. A very pretty, typical pink.

The last one up in the line is Innocent. I think that this one also has a very fitting name seeing as it is a very neutral everyday shade that can go with any eye look. This is a very warm toned nude shade.

My overall opinion: Upon purchasing these I thought that it was a great deal for the price and I was not wrong. I loved using these so much on a day to day basis that it is actually ALL that I have used for the past couple months. I love that the original creme lipsurgence shades are very hydrating on the lips and fade very nicely. The matte ones are also not too overly drying, although adding a lip balm before application wouldn't hurt either. I think that they have great staying power, the mattes especially. I would say they last about 3-4 hours before an application is really needed. The lip glosses were also a surprising treat. They are not your typical sticky heavy gloss. They feel very lightweight and non-sticky on the lips and I LOVE that. Overall this is a product that I would definitely recommend and I plan on buying full size products in the future. :)

Urban decay smoked palette review!

I bought this palette for $20 on sale at sephora not too long ago. I have used it quite a bit since then so I feel I can give a proper review. I absolutely LOVE this palette. Ever color is full of pigmentation, this palette also includes a full size 24/7 glide on pencil in perversion and a travel size of their original primer potion. The case is very sturdy, a nylon feeling exterior and it has a real full mirror inside. It has a zipper closure, making it travel friendly as well.

Here is a size comparison of the primer potion that is included. :)

From left to right: kinky, freestyle, mushroom, backdoor, blackout, barlust, rockstar, evidence, loaded and asphalt. Then the glide on pencil in perversion, a blackest black eyeliner.

Above are the swatches of the palette and the eyeliner is all the way to the right.

Here is a head on shot of the look I created with this palette. (I'm using the too faced better than sex mascara)

The shadows I used are kinky as a highlight, freestyle as a blending shade, mushroom all over my lid, barlust in my crease and asphalt in my outer corner :)

I am also using the primer potion that it came with.

My final thoughts: I am completely in love. I think that for $20 this is a must have. It is a great way to play around with different smoky eye looks. This also comes with a booklet on how to create many different looks which I think is great for people. From experience this eyeliner is amazing, so smooth there is no dragging in application and it stays put. You can also set it with blackout for a super dark look that would last ALL day. The primer potion is also pretty amazing. I've worn this look for 10 hours with NO creasing. The colors are super pigmented and easy to blend. Overall, I would say go for it!
